Sporty by vocation, the chronograph is equipped with an additional mechanism which allows it to measure and display shorter periods of time using dedicated counters. The operation is usually carried out by means of two buttons located on each side of the crown. A Swiss Army Knife of a tool-watch par excellence since watchmakers also compete in ingenuity to create other functions: flyback, split-seconds, countdown, single push-piece... These calibers with multiple complications, are often housed in highly resistant materials.

CAMOUFLAGE
Created in 1993, the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore chronograph undeniably gains in virility with this steel variation on a rubber strap with a camouflage motif. Water-resistant to 100 meters (330’), the 44 mm-diameter case features an octagonal bezel, push-pieces and a ceramic crown, a high-tech material that is unalterable, very light and extremely resistant to wear and tear.
FULLY INTEGRATED
Hublot is exploring a new dimension with the creation of a totally integrated strap for its Big Bang icon. A first for this timepiece, which this year will celebrate its 15th anniversary. Water-resistant to 100 meters (330’) and produced in titanium, King Gold or black ceramic, the Big Bang Integral incorporates an automatic Unico caliber whose flyback function enables a current timing to be reset to zero and another to be launched simultaneously with a single manipulation.
DEEP-SEA DIVING
With its grey “sharkskin” dial, this 47 mm-diameter titanium submersible flyback chronograph pays tribute to Guillaume Néry, French freediving champion and Panerai ambassador. Water-resistant to 300 meters (1,000’), this genuine professional diving instrument benefits from luminescent attributes and a unidirectional rotating bezel with ceramic insert. One particularity is that the chrono information is displayed in the center: a fine rhodium-plated hand for the minutes and a blue hand for the seconds.
TAILORED FOR RACING
As partner of the International Automobile Festival, Girard-Perregaux has imagined this Laureato Absolute Passion in black PVD titanium on a black rubber strap with fabric effect and red stitching. Only 50 will be produced. The 44 mm diameter instrument is water-resistant to 300 meters (1,000’) and houses an automatic movement with impeccable finishing, protected by a solid back engraved with the Laureato Absolute logo.
RETRO MODE
Inspired by the first Oris diver’s watch designed in 1965, the iconic Divers Sixty-Five collection has many references including this steel chronograph version with a bronze bezel. With a diameter of 43 mm, this self-winding model definitely fits in with the vintage aesthetic trend whilst remaining a highly technical ...
